Measuring a rectangular umbrella canopy
Your rectangular umbrella will have 6 or 8 ribs (6 ribs are usually found on smaller units only)
Only measure where ribs are positioned, so on a 6-rib rectangular umbrella, measuring B2 can be omitted since there are no medium ribs.
You will need to open your umbrella so the cover is taut.
• Measure Dimensions A1 and A2, the overall length of each side
• Then, measure B, B1 and B2, from tip to the very center of the upper hub - this is the point where the finial is fastened through the cover.
• Measure the small opening C - this is often just a brass grommet, but it could be as large as 2 to 3 inches. It is the opening allowed for the finial to pass through the fabric.
• Finally, measure D, the size of the umbrella rib, as illustrated below.
Mark down the measurements and send to us using our Quote Request link to the left.
If you no longer have the cover, we do not neccessaily need the A1 and A2 measurements to calculate the size - we can reconstruct them by using the B, B1 and B2 measurements alone.
